Requirements: Official transcript with Degree posted in Chemistry Bachelor of Science or equivalent. 25 semester units in Chemistry including analytical and biochemistry. Verification of one year clinical training or work experience in all areas of CLIA Clinical Chemistry Lab. All documents must be sent directly to LFS from the source.
Examination: Applicants must pass a California approved certifying organization examination in Chemistry category. Approved organizations include the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the National Registry in Certified Chemistry, and the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC). Applicants must take the CA online to be license.
License: Applicants must pay separate fee to the Certifying Organization.
Average Time to Process Application: 150 days (5 months).
Renewal Period: Certification is valid for 2 years. Need to complete 24 units/hours of Continuing Eduication.
