License Requirements, Fees, and Examination Information:
Individuals authorized to sell securities as agent for an insurance company or securities broker.
Fees: Application: $103 license fee for one-year term; Examination: none; Renewal: not renewable. Fingerprint processing: All applicants must make an appointment and appear at a designated fingerprint processing site with a check in the amount of $60.95 made payable to "L-1 ESD" (VISA or MasterCard will also be accepted for payment of fingerprint fees).

Average Time to Process Application: 1 to 2 weeks.
Renewal Period: From date issued to next July 1. License is non-renewable. Each year a new application must be submitted for continuation of an existing stock agent certificate.

Special License Requirements: Fingerprint impressions are required for unlicensed applicants. The applicant must call L-1 Identity Solutions (L-1 ESD) at 1-(800)315-4507 to schedule an appointment for the fingerprint impressions to be taken prior to submitting your application. Fingerprint impressions will not be accepted from any other source. A copy of your Request For Live Scan Service (form LIC 442-39A) must be submitted with your application verifying your prints were taken by L-1 Identity Solutions; minimum age: 18 years. California residency is required.
