Technicians inspecting, testing and repairing vehicle emissions control systems in accordance with the Smog Check program.
Fees: Application: $20; Renewal: $20. Exam fee: $45.
Examination Frequency: License is valid for two years. Expires last day of month of birth.
Exam Locations: Varies.
Experience Requirement: See "Special License Requirements" below.
Average Time to Process Application: 50 days.
Renewal Period: Every 2 years.
Special License Requirements: Completion of required training and/or qualifying experience; ASE certification and update training as required.
