License Requirements, Fees, and Examination Information:
Clinical Chemist Scientist (also known as Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technologists)

Application Fee: $230.00

Renewal Fee: $230.00 + $16 CE fee

Renewal: 24 units/hours of Continuing Education (CE) every 2 years

Requirements: Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in chemistry or equivalent major which shall include at least 25 semester or 38 quarter units in chemistry including courses in analytical chemistry and instrumentation. Verification of one year clinical training or work experience in all areas of CLIA Clinical Chemistry Lab. All documents must be sent directly to LFS from the source.

Examination: Applicants must refer to the LFS website for the list of approved certifying organization examinations for each license category.

Average Time to Process Application: 150 days (5 months). Incomplete application packages may be abandoned 150 days after registration.
