Credit Insurance Agent
A Credit Insurance Agent License permits an organization or individual to sell credit insurance, and receive a commission, without (as in previous years) having to be licensed as a life agent and/or property and casualty broker-agent.
With a Credit Insurance Agent License, a business may register its employees who solicit or sell credit insurance to be listed as "endorsees." A business will have to register its employees as endorsees if it will pay or permit them to receive commissions for the selling of credit insurance, but will not have to register its employees as endorsees if it will not pay or permit them to receive commissions for selling credit insurance.
Fees:
• Application: $408 for two-year term
• Renewal: Renewal Fee is $373 each two-year license term
Other license information and requirements:
• Examination required: No
• Average Time to Process Application: two to three weeks
• Renewal Period: Two-year license term
• Continuing education: None
• Fingerprint impressions are required for unlicensed applicants. You must call Accurate Biometrics at (866) 361-9944 to schedule an appointment to have your fingerprint impressions taken prior to submitting your application. Fingerprint impressions will not be accepted from any other source. You must bring a copy of your Request For Live Scan Service, form LIC 442-39A to the site where your fingerprints are taken, have Accurate Biometrics complete their portion of the form, and submit the completed form to the Department with your application verifying your prints were taken.
