Private practitioners in counseling.
Fees: Initial Application and California Law & Ethics Examination: $280
Initial License (Max): $200
California Law and Ethics Examination: $100
Re-Examination (L&E): $100
Clinical Examination through the National Board of Certified Counselors: National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE)
Examination Frequency: - Continuous Administration.
Exam Locations: Multiple.
Experience Requirement: Doctor’s or Master’s degree containing specific course content and completion of specific coursework or training, 3000 hours experience under direct supervision of authorized supervisor.
Renewal Period: Every 2 years.
Special License Requirements: Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation; take and pass examinations.
