License Requirements, Fees, and Examination Information:
Managers or administrators of traffic violator schools.
Fees: Application: $200; Renewal: $100; Transfer: $50; Replacement or duplicate: $15; Family support: $1.
Examination Frequency: Initial application and every 2 years.
Exam Locations: Multiple
Experience Requirement: Must have worked for an established licensed California traffic violator school, driving school, or an established commercial driving training and education program operated by a bona fide labor organization as an instructor for a period of not less than 500 hours of actual in-class instruction.
Average Time to Process Application: 120 days. May issue temporary permit.
Renewal Period: Two years following date of issuance.
Special License Requirements: Be age 21 years or older; pass background investigation; employed by a licensed traffic violator school; pass the written examination; 500 hour certification.
