Fresno County Located in the fertile Central Valley, Fresno is the sixth-largest county in land area in the state, encompassing 6,000 square miles. To the west, Fresno shares its border with San Benito and Monterey counties. Other neighbors include Merced and Madera to the north, Mono and Inyo to the east, and Kings and Tulare to the south.
Los Angeles County Located on the southern coast of the state, Los Angeles County covers over 4,000 square miles and includes San Clemente and Santa Catalina islands. Neighboring counties include Orange, Kern, San Bernardino, and Ventura.
Santa Clara County Located south of San Francisco Bay, Santa Clara County is part of one of the state's busiest urban areas-the San Francisco Bay Area. There are nine counties which significantly contribute to the economy of the Bay Area as an urban center: Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Solano, Santa Clara, and Sonoma. Santa Clara shares borders with Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties to the west, Stanislaus and Merced counties to the east, San Benito County to the south, and Alameda County, its neighbor to the north.
